Gwendolyn "Gwen" D. Barnette, age 79, of Flint, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 11AM at Mayfair Bible Church, 5339 Pierson Road in Flushing. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, starting at 4PM until 8PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will continue on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 10AM until the time of the service at Mayfair Bible Church. Interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park in Mr. Morris. Gwen was born on May 10, 1943, to the late Glendon (Dorothy) McCulley in Flint. She graduated in 1961 from Beecher High School. Gwen married Joe on March 16, 1963 and they were blessed with their daughter, Wendy. Gwen enjoyed her many travels to warmer weather with her husband, Joe. Together they spent much time golfing and bowling in their younger years. Gwen was an active member of Mayfair Bible Church where she took part in choir and Vacation Bible School. She was a wonderful hostess; Gwen and her sister, Sandra hosted many holiday dinners together. Gwen will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (William) Gold; grandson, Jacob (Mary) Linder; sister, Sandra Neahusan, Rosemary (Chris) Kuneman and Paulette (David) Tuyo. She is further survived by other family members and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Joe.
