Doris Jean Bauer, born October 16, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 27, 2026 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballenger Hwy, Flint. Pastor Dean Dumbrille officiating. Please join the family for a luncheon immediately following her service at the church. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 4-8 PM and at church Monday, April 27, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Doris shared an extraordinary 76-year marriage with her beloved husband, Lloyd Bauer, whom she married on September 24, 1949. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. Lloyd survives her. She is also survived by her son, Gary Bauer (Sheila Bauer); her grandchildren, Kelley Fellows and Eric Bauer (Kristin Bauer); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Morgan, Payton, Sierra, and Lucas, who brought her immense joy.
Doris lived an active and vibrant life. She enjoyed golfing and playing tennis and had a gift for helping others through her work in massage therapy. Her energy, warmth, and love of life were evident in everything she did. She and Lloyd were long-time devoted members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint, Michigan, where they built lasting friendships and a strong sense of community.
She was preceded in death by her father Lee Kakoska, mother Floy Kakoska and brother Jewell Kakoska.
Doris will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She created a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
