Mr. Zade Wilson of Vassar, Michigan (Tuscola Township) passed away early Sunday evening November 20, 2022 at the age of 86.
Zade was the son of the late Nathan Dempsey and Leona (Honeycutt) Wilson. He was born in Sioux, North Carolina and raised in Erwin, Tennessee where he graduated with the class of 1955. After graduating he moved to Michigan to work for General Motors Flint Assembly Plant as a skilled-trades millwright for 36 years and was also a member of UAW Local 598. Zade married the love of his life Caroline (Wangler) on June 27, 1964. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage and had four children together. Zade served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for eight years. Zade was a loving, caring and compassionate gentleman that always gave respect, forgiveness, and encouragement to others. He had a love for nature and all of God’s creation, he loved his acreage and a special woodsy area he affectionately called ‘The Retreat’.
Zade was witty and intelligent and loved Bible study/prophecy, history, anything mechanical, and most importantly spending time with his family. Further, Zade honorably served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed fellowship with his church family. He will be so dearly missed by all his friends and family.
Zade is forever loved by his wife Caroline (Carol) and his four children: Randy (Cheri) Wilson, Lorrie Wilson and fiancé David Asher, Lisa Wilson (Ross) and fiancé William Heffelfinger, and Stephen (Kristine) Wilson, five grandchildren: Jonathon (Jessica), Justin (Kaitlin), Jennifer (Pablo), Erica, and Colin, ten great-grandchildren: Evie, Zade, Lucy Bea, Liam, Milo, Jed, Ayden, Eli, Rickey, Ebon, and one more girl on the way, six nephews: Roger, Rickey, Raymond, Donald, Nathan, Terry and a niece, Debra Ann.
Zade is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Raymond, Joseph, and Hobert and his sisters Rose Marie, Ethel, and Pearl, as well as a niece Lana Carol.
Friends may visit at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar, Michigan [1148 W. Saginaw Road] on Monday, November 28, 2022, beginning at 11:00 am until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services for Zade will be held beginning at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at the Tuscola Township Cemetery in Tuscola, MI.
