NORDSTROM, Richard “Dick” Arthur – of Clio, age 89 died Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Pray Assisted Living. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hope for Heroes, Shriners Hospital for Children, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Richard was born October 17, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to the late Delbert and Evelyn (Wheeler) Nordstrom. He grew up in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Northern High School with the class of 1951. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. On March 20, 1954 he married the love of his life Nancy Miles. Prior to his retirement in 1997, Richard worked for the City of Flint as a Police Officer from 1954 to 1965. He then went on to become a Car Hauler from 1965 to 1997 with F.J. Boutell Drive Away with 32 years of service. Richard was a member of the Genesee Masonic Lodge #174 with 60 years of membership, the Elf Khurafeh Shriner’s where he served as President of the Military Patrol in 1974, and the Clio American Legion Post #158. He was an avid boating enthusiast and owned a 30’, 37’, and a 46’ boat for several years. He loved his family, adored his grandson Cameron and his great granddaughter, Renley. Richard liked his Irish music and the Statler Brothers. He enjoyed sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and U of M Football. Richard also enjoyed wintering in Punta Gorda, Florida with his wife. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Compassus Hospice for their great care.
Surviving are: Wife of 68 years, Nancy Nordstrom; Children, Rick Nordstrom, Sheryl (Cary) Richardson; Grandson, Cameron Richardson; Great Granddaughter, Renley Richardson; several nieces and nephews.
