EDICK, Gordon DeWayne – Of Grand Blanc, age 93, died Thursday, November 25, 2021.
No memorial or funeral service is planned at this time.
Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Gordon’s name at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Mr. Edick was born on September 30, 1928 in Flint and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford D. Edick. He graduated from the old Beecher High School in 1946 and attended the University of Michigan.
He returned to Flint and went to work at what was then known as the Buick Retail Store. On the closing of Eastside Buick in June 1973, he was transferred to Buick Motor Division's service station, retiring from there as a Service Engineer in January 1987, after 40 years of service. He married the former Helen Louise Barnum, who was his wife for 70 years before passing. He attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Flint all of his adult years.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Lisa Lynn (Mike) Murphy of Grand Blanc and Beth Ann Edick of Austin, Texas;
3 grandchildren, Amanda (George) Kitakis, Jennifer Badour and Steven (Lacey) Bedsole;
6 great-grandchildren, Jaidason, MaKenna, Madelyn, Layla, Carson and Isabella.
He asked in his passing that a most sincere thanks be given to all the people, his family, his friends and all the others, who through the years have provided the opportunity for him to live the wonderful life he was so richly blessed with, but most especially to the wonderful lady who was his wife, who inspired him, guided him, was his greatest booster and made every day worthwhile.
