KERTESZ, Donald Steven - Age 73, of Flint Township, died Friday, December 3, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Don's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 6-8 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society or the McLaren Flint Auxiliary.
Donald was born May 9, 1948 in Flint, the son of Steven and Margaret (Kibash) Kertesz. He was a 1966 graduate of Southwestern High School. He married Nancy Jean Graskey April 24, 1967 in Burton. He had resided in Flint Township for the past 28 years coming from Linden. Donald retired in 2003 from AC Spark Plug (Delphi) after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Flushing Moose Lodge #1437. He enjoyed woodworking, coin collecting, gardening, stain glass making, corvettes and car shows.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Nancy; children, Ian J. (Sherry) Kertesz of Gaines, Steven E. Kertesz of Swartz Creek, and Anessa (Dr. Michael Mueller) Kertesz Mueller of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Keri, Kaylee, Emma, Ethan, and Wyatt Kertesz and C. Logan SanCraint; great granddaughter, Aliyah; sisters, Debra (Greg) Williamson of Finley, OH, Darlene VanNorman of Swartz Creek, and Diane Kertesz of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores Reed; his beloved dogs, Sam and Tucker; and cat, Smokey. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
