Passed away peacefully at her home May 7, 2014 with her family by her side.
Barb was born October 6, 1935 to the late John and Mae (Lozo) Dawes. She met her high school sweetheart, Marvin, at New Lothrop and married on December 3, 1955. Marvin passed away in May 2011.
She is survived by their 8 children: Dave (Neva)Severn, Arizona; Dan Severn, Coldwater; Mark (Deb) Severn, New Lothrop; Mike (Laurie) Severn, Petoskey; Eva (Mike) Moormann, Saginaw; Rod (Debbie) Severn, New Lothrop; Cathy (Kevin) Birchmeier, New Lothrop; Barbie (Rob) Orr, New Lothrop. 26 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and siblings Leo, David and Jerry Dawes.
Barb touched many people’s lives with her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. She was the happiest when cooking in her kitchen for family and friends.
Barb also enjoyed working, and spent many years with great friends at Gracie’s, and then starting her own Catering business.
To honor Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Erica’s Kids, P.O. Box 212 New Lothrop, MI 48460.
May we all be as lucky as Barb to leave this world with too many special friends to list, so many family stories to tell, and a legacy that will last far after we are gone.
