Thomas, Leroy - Of Flint, age 85, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 23rd 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating. An entombment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00-6:00pm on Friday and 10:00am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Leroy was born in Clay County, Arkansas on October 7, 1938, the son of the late Grover and Dissie (Wright) Thomas. On August 17, 1974, he married Martha Rose. Leroy proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed and retired from Chevy Metal Fab. He enjoyed walks around the neighborhood with his dogs and grandchildren. Most of all, he loved his family.
Surviving are children, Matt, Eugene (Crystal) and Jonathan (Angela) Thomas;
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
brother, Virgil (Janina) Thomas;
sister, Pat (Richard) Fisher;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha R. Thomas; sons, Robert Thomas and Doug Thomas; daughter, Dawn Waldrop; granddaughter, Ayanna; sister, Jane and brother, James.
