Owen II, Niles L. Of Flushing, age 85, died Saturday, July 3, at his home. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass.

Niles was born in Owosso, Michigan on November 16, 1935, the son of Niles and Marie (Rice) Owen. He married Lee Dooley on October 8, 1960. Niles was a devoted husband and they spent 53 wonderful years together before Lee passed away on September 16, 2014. Niles proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked for over 30 years at General Motors, retiring in 1996. Niles enjoyed youth hockey, was a big supporter of his grandsons hockey games and served as President of the Eastern Michigan Hockey Association. He was an avid fly fisherman and spent time as a Volunteer Firefighter.

Niles is survived by his children, Kathleen Owen, LeAnne Stewart, Niles III and wife Mary Jo Owen, Dan Owen; he was loving pops to his grandchildren, Katie, Daniel, Ruby, Connor, Spencer, Niles IV, Alexandria, Brock, Megan; great-grandchildren, Norah, Henry; sisters, Mary (Darold) Onstott, Kay Lennerth; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Archambeau, Eva Fisher, Hazel (Jim) Wise, Kathy (Dwight) Dehner, and Betty Goodroe. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
