FLAVIN, Lyn David - Of Swartz Creek, age 77, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center.
Cremation has taken place and cremains will be buried at sea.
A private memorial service is planned in Denver Colorado in the summer of 2021 so his children can celebrate his life and become the family he had always hoped for.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Lyn was born in Flint, Michigan on May 28, 1943, the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy Flavin.
Lyn danced his way into Heaven. He joined the Navy on January 31, 1962. He left the military. Once home he worked in the family business as a heavy equipment operator. He worked in the gold and coal mining industry. Lyn loved three beautiful women in his life. He was the proud father of five beautiful children. Lyn was a free spirit and lived his life how he wanted. He loved to dancing, golfing, boating, and operating heavy machinery. Lyn could usually be found at the local McDonald’s talking to his buddies. Lyn loved to dance and frequent the local community dances he could shake it better than most of them. He was a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of those he leaves behind.
Surviving are children, David (Michele) Maloney Gambrils, Maryland, Krista (Jeffrey Hastings) McTaggart of Davison,
James Richard Flavin, Kristen (Brandon) McDonald, all of McKinleyville, CA,
David (Alayna) Flavin of Denver, CO;
7 grandchildren, Hailey, Aurora, Landyn, Eva, Ryder, Jordan, Lucy and a granddaughter on the way, JoJo.
sister, Judy Flavin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joan and Julye; brother, Ray and grandson, Hunter.
