Vivian R. Blackmon-Johnston, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on May 20, 2021 at Thompson Peak Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Vivian was born on August 29, 1928 in Pontiac, Michigan to Lester and Marguerite (Hyler) Sires. She married Albert Blackmon in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1989. In 1993, she married Charles Johnston and were married until his passing in 2016. Vivian was a devoted and loving wife to both husbands. She enjoyed tennis and golf and was a member of Warwick Golf and Country Club in Michigan, The Boulders Country Club in Arizona, and The Bloomfield Hunt Club where she enjoyed riding her horse.
Vivian belonged to many organizations including the Republican Party, and was involved in many charities. A devout Catholic and dedicated servant to the Lord, Vivian was a proud member of Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. She loved the Schnauzers she had over the years and always stated that she had a very blessed life and was fortunate that she had two wonderful husbands.
Vivian is survived by her step-son, Robert (Cheryl) Johnston of Michigan; step-son-in-law, Dr. Richard Siders; step- grandchildren, Bruce (Rebecca) Sider, and Dr. Amelia Siders; nephew, Donald (Claire) Strzynski; and nieces: Nancy (Lynn) Golden, Kathy (Glen) Freel, and Laurie LaCharite. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert W. Blackmon and Charles M. Johnston; sister, Maxine Strzynski; brother- in- law, Francis Strzynski; and step-daughter, Martha Siders.
The family will greet friends from 4:00pm- 7:00pm on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Noon on Monday, June 7 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6340 Roberta St., Burton, Michigan. In State from 11:30am until time of Mass. Interment following at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
