MILLER, Ruth L. – Of Flint, age 99, died Monday, September 27, 2021 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Son-in-law, Terry Rardin officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to H.I.S. Ministry at Bristol Road Church of Christ, 1315 West Bristol Road, Flint 48507.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Ruth was born in Flint, Michigan on June 14, 1922 and was a resident of the Flint area for 55 years, moving to Wetmore in June, 1998.
She graduated from Flushing High School in 1940; later in her life she graduated from Mott Community College.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Bristol Road Church of Christ. She was active in volunteer work most of her life.
Mrs. Miller was employed as a social worker at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital and she worked for the National Forest Service in Newberry, Michigan.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Carol (Terry) Rardin and Margaret (Rick) Burkman;
2 sons, James and Stephen (Jan);
9 grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Miller, in 1975; son, Paul; sisters, Dorothy Banks, Vera Moore and Jean Charles; 2 brothers, Donald and Denzil Stephenson.
