Hester “Heck” Humphreys, age 88 of Millington, died on Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM, June 29, 2023 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association, or to a charity of one's choice.
Heck was born in Flint on October 30, 1934 to Hester and Louise Humphreys. He was a member of the Millington Masonic Lodge 407 F&AM and the Otter Lake Episcopal Church. Heck enjoyed fishing, hunting gardening, and playing cards and bridge. After retiring from GM, Heck and Myrtle went on a journey, walking the Appalachian Trail.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; children: Linda Humphreys and David Humphreys; granddaughters: Christine Shavrnoch and Melissa Humphreys; great grandchildren: Carolyn, Lydia, and Gemma; siblings: JoAnn Robinson and Don Humphreys; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Humphreys.
