Kimberley J. Brown, age 70 of Fenton, died Monday, May 30th, 2022 at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at Flushing United Methodist Church. Pastor Paul Pfeuffer will officiate. Burial to follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 2 at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service.
Kim was born on March 31, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Bill and Jackie Brown. She was employed by EDS for 16 years before retiring from Mott Community College. Kim married Mark Szmigiel on May 17th,1997. She was active in Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star in Flushing; serving a Grand Officer for Rainbow in the state of Michigan and was a past matron of Flushing O.E.S. She loved music, hunting, and fishing and U of M football. She enjoyed golfing, scrapbooking and flower arranging. She was a member of the Flushing Methodist Church and served on the friends of Mott Library.
Surviving is her husband of 25 years, Mark Szmigiel, mother Jackie Brown, brothers; Bill (Lynn) of Flushing and Scot of Fenton, nephews; Billy and Christopher, Clayton and Logon, best friend; Denise Johnson and husband Ron, God-children; Shannon (Mike) Murray, Wes (Jill) Johnson and Brodie (Megan) Johnson, in-laws Gene and Sylvia Szmigiel of Dearborn Heights and brother-in-law; Kenneth Szmigiel of Dearborn. Kim was preceded in death by her father; Bill Brown and brother in-law Steven Szmigiel. Visitation will be Thursday June 2nd from 2-8pm and the funeral will be on Friday June3rd at the Flushing Methodist Church on Friday June 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donation be made to the Cardiac Heart Center at McLaren hospital. |
