ELMER, Laura “Laurie” – Of Durand, age 61, died Friday, September 30, 2022 at Suncrest Highland.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Michigan.
Pastor Mark Pretznow officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.

Visitation 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Laura was born in Flint, Michigan on January 15, 1961, the daughter of the late of Robert and Laralene (Wilson) Anderson. She married Mark Elmer in Fenton and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2017.
She was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church for many years as well as the Eagles in Hale, MI. Laurie retired from Flint schools as an event coordinator. She enjoyed being outside in the sun doing yard work, crafting, being on the lake, being with friends and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving children, Nicole (Brandon) Dinser and Brett Elmer;
brother, Michael Anderson;
sister-in-law, Kim (Tom) Curran;
grandchildren, Isis, Isaac an Colt;
step-grandchildren, Andrew and Logan;
brother-in-law, Lloyd (Norma) Elmer;
nieces and nephew, Deidre, Megan and Rob;
and many special friends.
She was also preceded in death by her aunt, Alice “Dolly” Casselman.
