WARD, Darrell Alan – of Burton, MI, age 71, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. The family will receive visitors the hour prior to the service at Allen Funeral Home. Inurnment, with Military Honors, will be held 9:30 AM Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 8:30 AM Thursday to process to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, in Darrell’s memory.
Darrell was born in Flint, MI on March 24, 1950, son of the late Ira and Mary (Saunders) Ward, Jr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1975. Darrell married Diane Shelby on September 16, 1989. He was employed with Delphi, AC Delco and General Motors, retiring in 2008 after 30 years of service. Darrell enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles, holding membership in the Frankenmuth American Legion Post #150. Also, life membership in N.R.A. and Harley Owners Group.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane Ward; sister-in-law, Sherri (Pete) Andresen, children and grandchildren.
