SARKA (ZAMORA), JUANITA – Of Grand Blanc/Flint, age 91, died Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Bella Vita Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Research or Operation Mobilization.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mrs. Sarka will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service.
Juanita was born in McGregor, Texas on May 27, 1931, the daughter of the late Frank and Isabel (Perez) Zamora.
Juanita was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking, shopping, gardening, supporting missionaries, reading the Bible and spending time with her family.
Juanita retired from General Motors Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant in October, 1987 and was a member of UAW Local #659.
Surviving are husband, John Sarka;
3 children, Gloria (Eric) “Gribb” Gillen of Kenoshow, Wisconsin,
Robert Gallardo and fiancee’ Alisa Elston of Grand Blanc,
Sonya (Don) Konieczka of Grand Blanc;
son-in-law, Ron Kimble;
7 grandchildren, Rachel (Slater) Hawes, Sarah (Drew) Santini, Eric (Andrea) Strong, April (Jeff) Gansmann, Preston Konieczka, Cecilia Gallardo and Lucas Kimble;
3 great-grandchildren, Isaac Santini, Isabel Santini and Beckett Gansmann;
step-children, Kathy (Rick) Hundley, Sheree (Rick) Harrison and Deanna (Alan) Hagenstein;
brother, Vincent Zamora;
sister, Mary Galaviz;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Raymond Gallardo; daughter, Kathryn Kimble; sisters, Isabel (Chavlita) Zamora, Emilia Zamora and Rose Torres.
