DURAN-RUEDA, Mary Elena - Age 69, of Flint Twp., passed away, suddenly in Las Vegas, NV, April 15, 2023. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 2316 Coldwater Rd., Flint. Visitation 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2023 with a Rosary Service at 7PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and visitation will continue 10:00 AM until the time of Mass Saturday at Church. In honor of Mary, the family would appreciate if family and friends would wear Detroit Tigers apparel to her visitation at the funeral home.
Mary was born February 13, 1954 in Flint, the daughter of Aleusion and Filomena (Rodriguez) Duran, Sr. She attended the Carmen-Ainsworth School District. She enjoyed camping, watching Vic and her family playing softball, bowling, and especially rooting for the Detroit Tigers.
Mary is survived by her husband, Vic, whom she has been with for 38 years; her "favorite children", LuLu and Kia; children, Ray (Kelley), Chrissy (Steve) Garza, and Rocky DeLaRosa (Angela); grandchildren, Alexis (Cody) Groulx, Aundria (Erik) Brulla, Abriana (Joey) Anderson, Steven Garza II, Mica (Devin) Goddard, Miah DeLaRosa, Brandon DeLaRosa, Alano Garza, and Isabella Garza, Tyler, Landyn; great grandchildren, Harper and Emmitt Groulx, Peyton Brulla, Addison and Aiden Anderson, and Laveya Goodard; mother, Filomena Duran; siblings, Charles VanDuser, Ulalia Tallman, Felix Duran, Michael (Rosa) Duran, Jesus (Vivian) Duran; special sister-in-law, Marcia Duran; special friends, Lydia Partin, and Ruth Wooten; many nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by: her father, Aleusion Duran, Sr.,brothers, Aleusion Duran, Jr., David Duran, and Johnny Duran; father and mother-in-law, Santiago (Chago) and Hela Rueda; sister-in-law, Norma Van Duser; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Tallman.
