LOZON, James E. – Of Grand Blanc, formerly of Lake Fenton, age 76, passed away at home on Friday, May 26, 2017.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Rev. Nathan Allen officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery with military graveside service under the auspices of Chevrolet VFW Post #3087 Honor Guard.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Flint, Michigan on January 10, 1941, the son of the late Clyde and Patricia (McColman) Lozon.
He was a graduate of Flint Central High School, Class of 1959.
He proudly served as a member of the United States Navy. Upon being discharged, he entered the Hurley Hospital School of Radiology, where he graduated as a Radiologic Technologist. He was employed by the Medical Department at Buick Motor Division for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
In 1961 he married Ann Louise Bloomfield, together they raised their two children.
Jim was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan, as well as a big Lake Fenton Blue Devil fan. He had the best times watching all three of his grandsons compete in high school sports at Lake Fenton.
Jim never met a stranger. He was also a lifetime member of the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association and a former member of the United States Trotting Association.
He is survived by his two children, LeeAnn (Timothy) Franks and Danny (Diana) Lozon;
three grandsons, Justin (Jennifer) Lozon, Nathan and Ryan Franks;
one great-grandson, Hudson Lozon.
Other survivors include two brothers, Christopher (Sharon) and Michael (Karen);
one sister; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ann Louise, in 2009; his parents and one
brother, Jonathon.
