Kathryn Mae “Kathy” (Curry) Wilson, 88, of Flint, Mi went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor James Green officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025, and Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10am till the time of service, at the funeral home.
She was born in Flint, MI on July 19, 1936, to Theodore and Doris (Coberley) Curry.
Kathy met John E. “Jack” Wilson on a blind date.
When she was 16 years old, they married and began their long life of raising a family and exemplifying a dedication of commitment to love and faith. Together, they had 8 children.
Kathy went to George Dailey Jr High. She attended Flint First Wesleyan Church for many years where she enjoyed singing in the choir, attending family camp and the many events hosted by the church. Over the years, she and Jack enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time together. She enjoyed puzzles and crossword puzzles. She loved bringing her kids to the movies and trips to McDonalds. She was incredibly social, and her love was limitless. If you asked her how she was doing, she famously would reply, “Fine as frog hair; because frogs don’t have any hair.” She was a “chatty Kathy” and loved to call her family on their birthdays and would proudly sing to each one of them every year. Her family would attest to the fact that she made the best pancakes in the world! Most of all, Kathy relished the time she spent with family.
Along with her husband of nearly 72 years, survivors also include children, Jackie (Michael) Wilding of Linden, Annette (Henry) Maguffee of Alabama, Robert (Stacey) Wilson of Central Lake, Rebecca (Art) Artrip of Grand Blanc, and Andrea Hitsman of Indiana; 21 grandchildren, LaTisha (Mark) Ivory, Heather Mireles, Michael Wilding, Kassandra Elston, Kristy Elston, Autumn (Tim) Bollinger, Brandi Montney, Melissa (Joe) Suders, Curtis (Christa) Wilson, Josh Wilson, Kendra (Michael) Lehr, Stacy (Kevin) Sparks, Charleen (Jonathan) Butler, Jessica (Taylor) Medders, Erica (Mike) Farnick, Clayton (Caitlin) Pemberton, Travis Pemberton, Alexis (Dallas) Savage, Alyssa (Homer) Wilson, Ashton Hitsman, Gavin Hitsman; 34 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte VanDyke; brother, Charlie Curry; several nieces, nephews and friends. We will “love you later”!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Doris Curry; daughters, Michelle Elaine, Collette Renee and Mary Lorraine; grandsons, James Lee and Steven; daughter-in-law, Christine Wilson; sister, Delores Reppuhn and Tony Mireies.
