REED, Donald L. "Doc" - Age 91, of Fenton, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020. A private celebration of Life will be held on a future date. Burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Homes For Our Troops ( hfotusa.org).
Donald was born on July 2, 1929 in Jerome, Michigan, the son of Norman and MayBelle (Westfall) Reed. He grew up in the Fenton area and attended Fenton High School. Donald served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Carolyn Jones in 1952, sadly she preceded him in death March 2019. Donald was a lifelong resident of the Fenton area and spent many winter months in Bradenton, FL. He spent 20 years as a printer at The Flint Journal and 20 years at AC Spark Plug in Flint.
He is survived by his children, Donald M. (Janice) Reed, of Linden, Lori Bireta, of Davison, and Cindy (Randy) Swain of Flushing; grandchildren, Melissa (Brendan) Jonland, Michelle Reed, Brandon Swain and Shalie (Sam) VanderKolk; and great-granddaughter, Sloane Jonland. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, his parents, three sisters and five brothers. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
