Combs, Janis Lou (Jan) - Of Flint Michigan, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age 87, at the Ascension Genesys Hospital, in Grand Blanc Michigan.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 11, 2024 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Michigan.
Committal Service and burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024 and 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 until the time of service at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Jan was born in Newport, Arkansas on February 6, 1937, the daughter of the late William Edgar and Lena Lee(Lewis) Odglen. On October 29, 1956, she was married to Billy Edgar Combs in Newport, Arkansas and they were married for 56 years. Jan was an avid bowler. She was inducted into the Flint Bowling Hall of Fame in 2001. She enjoyed bowling on numerous bowling leagues which allowed her to travel all over the United States and she participated for many years and during that period of time Jan developed many long-lasting friendships.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her brothers, Cleamon Odglen and Gerald Odglen.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Smith) Combs and her husband Stephen Smith. Special thank you to the Comfort Care Team at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
