KIGER, Norman Phillip – Of Flint, age 90, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Willowbrook Manor.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at
Bristol United Methodist Church, 5285 Van Slyke Road Flint, Pastor Brian Willingham officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Bristol United Methodist Church.
Visitation 12 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at church.
Norman was born in Flint, Michigan on January 22, 1931, the son of the late James and Virginia Stratton and was a resident of Flint his entire life.
He was an active member at church, member of N.A.L.C. Branch 256 and a
member of United Commercial Travelers Council 29.
Mr. Kiger was an avid golfer, with 2 holes in one. He was a diehard U of M Football fan, and he loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. Kiger was employed by the U.S. Postal Department for 37 1/2 years, retiring in August, 1992.
Surviving are step-son, Michael and (Natala) Harvey;
step-daughter, Betty Grossklaus;
grandchildren, Kellie (Bob) Biddle,
Scott (Teresa) Harvey,
and Hope (Kyle)Grossklaus;
5 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren;
brother-in-law, Ronald Yauch;
uncle, cousins, nephews, nieces; grand-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two wives, Marilyn J. on January 22, 1992; wife, Monta, on October 10, 2008 and brother, Calvin, who was killed in the Korean War in 1951.
