NIXON, Betty- of Flint, age 93, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday, February 25, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Cindy Dewar officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until the time of service. Private burial will be held at Flint Memorial Park.
Betty was born January 18, 1929, in Gaines Township, Michigan to the late Henry and Myrtle (Alorie) Nixon. She graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1947. Betty married the love of her life, Carl Nixon, in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1987. She worked for Hamady Brothers Grocery Store in Flint for 15 years. Betty loved bowling and competed on several leagues over the years. She became well known throughout the Flint area. In 1975, Betty and Carl moved to the Gladwin area where they enjoyed their time golfing.
Surviving are: Son, Kenneth Nixon, Sisters: June and Mickey, several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
