Kathleen Margaret Jacoby of Swartz Creek passed away on September 13. Kathy was born in Detroit on November 23, 1945, spent her childhood living primarily in Argyle, MI and graduated from Cass City High School in 1964. Kathy was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and spent 28 years teaching at Flint Powers (retiring in 2002), positively influencing the lives of many high school students. On August 8, 1970, she married her best friend Daniel Jacoby, and they spent the next 56 years sharing many adventures. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, where she volunteered on the funeral dinner committee, co-chaired several book sales raising over $60,000, and served as both vice president and president of the Council of Catholic Women. Kathy found joy in life spending time with family, traveling with friends, reading and sharing books, shopping, and following Powers and Wolverine sports. Kathy was known for her beautiful and thoughtful gifts, sparing no detail in the selection of the gift or presentation of the package. Every child in her life knew a “treat bag” full of goodies was included with every celebration. However, her greatest love in life was her husband Dan. Surviving is her husband, Daniel; brother George (Beth) Langenburg; sisters Nancy Smith, and Lynn (Tony) Gibson; multiple nieces and nephews, including Daniel (Jake Luker) Langenburg, Patrik (Beverly) Langenburg, grandniece Teagen and grandnephew Colton. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Robert Towler; mother, Jean Langenburg; stepfather, Leigh Langenburg, brother Robert Towler, Jr., brother-in-law Robert Jacoby, and a nephew Robert Towler III. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, September 17, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Queen Of Angels Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Flint Powers High School, Saint Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, or Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County where Kathy spent her final days in a peaceful environment with family at her side.
