Weissend, Lucille "Lucy" - Age 85, of Flint, died March 17, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, March 24 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton. Fr. Steve Anderson celebrant. Interment in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday March 22, 2-8 PM Wednesday with a 7 PM Vigil service March 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek; and 10 AM Thursday March 24 at Holy Redeemer. Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society. Lucille was born March 10, 1937 in Cullman, Alabama, the daughter of Archie and Minnie (Foshee) Easterwood. She married Joseph "Earl" Weissend on September 8, 1954 in Cullman, Alabama. Lucy worked as an operator and service representative for Michigan Bell Telephone for 30 years retiring in 1986. She was a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and had recently been attending Holy Redeemer the past few years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club of America, and was a Steward for the CWA Union. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Surviving are: three children, Johnny (Carol) Weissend of Flint, Bruce (Diana) Weissend of Lansing, Sharon (Steve) Cox; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wynell Marvin, Vickie Stegall; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Ronald; husband Earl; siblings, Judy (John) White, Ronald Easterwood, Linda (Robert) Zachary; and sister-in-law, Marsha Jackson.
