BEGGS, Barbara Joan – of Clio, age 82, died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. A private family service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church. Pastor Darrel Manning officiating. Entombment in Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Barbara was born August 9, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Virginia (Ingram) Woolard. She grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1958. She also attended Bible College. On November 4, 1961 she married Richard Beggs in Flint, Michigan. Prior to her retirement, Barbara worked for Dr. Aftab as a secretary for several years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and played the piano there for many years. Barbara enjoyed painting, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She was an avid gardener and loved canning her vegetables from it. However, her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Husband of 60 years, Richard Beggs; Children, Kevin (Teresa) Beggs, Stephanie (Dennis) Lee, Jeffrey Beggs; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Williams, Nicole (Patrick) LaBrecque, Jessica (David) Dunning, Cassidy Beggs, Hannah Beggs; many Great Grandchildren; Sister, Janet Frost; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say “Thank You” to McLaren Hospice and Sara Lee, Tammy Beavers, Chaplain Todd. Barbara was preceded in death by her Parents and Brother, DeeWayne Woolard.
