Harrison, Frederick A. – of Swartz Creek, age 86 , died Tuesday , April 13th, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral home 1225 W Hill Rd with the Reverend Adam Doyle officiating.
Visitation 3 p.m Saturday May 15th, 2021 until the time of the memorial service.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Born in Flint, Michigan on April 27th, 1934 , the son and only child of the late Burt and Helen (Mechaney) Harrison. Graduating from Flint Central High School in 1952 he moved on to become a journeyman tool and die maker and worked his entire career at the GM Flint plant until he retired in 1994. He also proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.
Fred enjoyed traveling the world, skiing, golfing, a car enthusiast and reducing the prairie dog population in Montana via some fine long-range shooting. He also dabbled in theater and was a member of the Fenton Players Club for a time.
Fred was always good for advice, a story or two, a good laugh, and his thoughtful remembrances to many who came to know him. There are so many friends, acquaintances, and family members that enjoyed everything from donuts, fresh fruit from FL, a bottle of wine, a few beers, magazine subscriptions, and financial assistance. Fred was a good man and will be dearly missed.
A special thanks to the owners, staff and care givers of “Right-At-Home” who helped Fred make the best of his final years at home where he wanted to be.
And to Maxine, dear friend and loved one who was there for Fred and family to the very end.
