HOLLISTER, Leslie M. – of Clio, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 19, 2020, two days before his 84th Birthday at his residence, with his family by his side. A private family service will take place along with a private burial at Thetford Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Leslie’s name may be made to the American Bible Society.
Leslie was born November 21, 1936 in Burton, Michigan to the late Leslie and Angeline (Hadi) Hollister. He graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1955. On March 16, 1957 he married the former Nina E. Laugavitz in Clio, Michigan and they have been married for 63 years. He served in the National Guard from 1957 to 1968. Leslie worked for General Motors and later for Delphi, retiring on September 14, 1999 after 44.8 years of faithful service. He was a longtime member of the Montrose Wesleyan Church and a Youth Leader for several years. Leslie enjoyed working in his garden and loved traveling around the country. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Leslie always tried to make the world a better place and donated 112 pints of blood to the American Red Cross.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years Nina; Children: Diane (Steven) Elliott of Ohio, Chris (Julia) Hollister of North Carolina and Gina Gittings of Flint; Grandson: Benjamin Hollister; Sisters: Laurie Hollister and Janice Hollister; along with two nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son Bruce Hollister, parents, siblings, Winona, twins Daniel and Michael, Matthew, Dawn, Clayton, Karen.
