HOLBECK, Shirley – of Flint, MI, age 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 North Gale Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Brent Sloan officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 PM at Davison Missionary Church. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday at church.
Shirley was born in Sparta, Tennessee on August 7, 1954, daughter of Stokes and Lizzie (Sparks) Jones. She married the love of her life Larry Holbeck on August 14, 1970 and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2010. Shirley retired from GM in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and shopping. Shirley loved traveling with her siblings to Tennessee and going to casinos. She loved being with her family and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by children; Chris (Wes) Smith, Larry Holbeck II, Reagen (Jeffry) Loiselle; grandchildren, Matthew, Avery, Tyler, Hannah and Brooklyn; 2 great grandchildren; mother, Lizzie Belincky; siblings, Howard Jones and Sheila (Dan) Chartrand; nephew, Bryan (Christyn) Prowant and their daughter Lydia, furry companions, Maggie and Tots and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by father, Stokes (Jackie), step-father, Harold, sister, Janet Jones, nephews, Ryan and Christopher Jones. The family would like to give a special thank you to the ICU nursing staff at Ascension Genesys, Cindy, Jen, Hannah and Julie.
