MACDERMAID, Robert – of Davison, age 92, passed away on December 17, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 W. Flint St., Davison; Rev Todd Frusti officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7PM Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on January 17, 1930, son of the late John and Edna (Apsey) MacDermaid. He married Sally Pett at St. Paul Lutheran Church on October 9, 1954, and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2012. Bob graduated from Alcona High School in 1948. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1951-1953 as a medic. Bob retired from Buick Motor Division in 1986 where he worked many years in Plant Security. He enjoyed painting and playing the harmonica and ukulele. Bob liked working on vehicles, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his children, Gary (Teresa) MacDermaid, Wanda (Mike) Kitchen and John MacDermaid; grandchildren, Christine, Joshua R., Michael, Tyler, Robert A. III, Jason and Joshua J.; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Ross, Piper, Amelia, Finley, Natalie, Dakota and Remington; sister, Ida Fox; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert A. MacDermaid II.
