Suciu, Karen Lee of Flint, MI, age 74, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 4, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5191 Richfield Rd. Flint, MI. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 2 and Thursday, June 3 from 12:00 pm (noon) to 8 pm at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint, MI. The Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Thursday, June 3 at 7:00 pm. Contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Karen was born May 7, 1947, in Flint, MI, to the late Nick and Dorothy (Wood) Suciu. She graduated from Kearsley High School in 1966 and worked at AC for 24 years as a production worker. She attended St. Leo’s and Holy Rosary Catholic Churches. On September 23, 1989, Karen married Bruce Dearwester. They were married 18 years until his death in 2007. Karen loved her family more than anything and spending time with them and her many friends. She loved bowling, pinball, and playing bingo, as well as playing pool and playing cards with her friends. Also, Karen loved to travel. In high school, she played basketball and placed in shot put and hurdles. Later, she taught catechism at St. Leo’s for several years. Surviving: daughter Krista Mosher (Keith), son Nick Smith (Gina), brother Nick (Diane) Suciu, sister Doris Suciu, brother Dan (Cecelia) Suciu, sister Lynda Suciu (Donald), grandkids, Erica Smith, Nicole Green, Stephanie (Jason) Potvin, Billy Smith (Jade), Garret Smith (Jenny), Colten Beatty, Terry Pollard (Shannon), Courtnie Hayes, Chelsea Hayes, Kyle Hayes, and many special nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. She is also survived by her very special and loved cat, Spike.
