ANDREWS, Mary Jane “MJ” - Of Flint, age 69, died Monday, January 15, 2024 At Ascension Genesys Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Kevin Thoman officiating.
Cremation has taken place. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery at a later date.
Contributions may be made to Whaley Home for Children or a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 11am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mary Jane was born in Flint, Michigan on August 16, 1954, the daughter of the late George and Donna (McDowell) Andrews. She graduated from Flint Hamady High School, Class of 1972 and received some college credits afterwards. Mary Jane was employed with Hurley for 34 years as a Public Safety Officer and was a nurse’s aide prior to working at Hurley. She enjoyed collecting dolls, traveling up north, especially Tawas and Mackinaw City. She loved to go and relax at the beach. She also enjoyed reading. Mary Jane was strong willed, funny, but most of all, very generous, helping others in many ways. Above all else, she loved her family.
Surviving are brother, David (Kathy);
niece and nephews, Matthew (Margaret), Dion (Anna), Calvin, Kip (Lindsey), Sarah (Matt) Ford, and Zachary;
and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, George III.
