William L. Taylor age 84 of Bancroft, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Oliver Woods Assisted Living. There are no services at this time. A gathering will be planned at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Love Chapel.
William Lewis Taylor was born January 20, 1937 in Howell, a son of Charles and Orpha (Hagerman) Taylor. On September 28, 1957 he married Sandra McCarty. He was a member of the Bancroft Congregational Church and the F.F.A.. William enjoyed camping, yard work, farming and tinkering with things. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a custodian for Durand Public Schools for over 30 years and he had farmed all his life.
William is survived by his wife, Sandra Taylor; children, William Taylor, Elaine (Jim) Langdon, Ellen (Jim) Cross and Brian (Cherie) Taylor; 8 grandchildren; 1 step-granddaughter; 9 great grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; 2 step-great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
