Joyce Ann Topham, age 93, passed away on Sun., Jan. 31, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Private family services are being arranged. Joyce was born on Jan. 28, 1928 in Flint, to Everett C. and Hazel I. Harding. Joyce married A.W. "Sandy" Topham on Dec. 9, 1948. They were married for 70 years before his passing in 2019. She is also preceded in death by her parents, brother Philip Harding, and sister Mary (nee Harding) Davison. Joyce graduated from Flint Central High School in 1946, attended Flint Junior College and the University of Michigan-Flint where she graduated with a degree in teaching. She taught 1st Grade in Flint and Grand Blanc, where she retired from in 1986. Sandy and Joyce raised four children, and were blessed by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Joyce was always a teacher, from her time in the classroom to an active role in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's education. She also loved reading, puzzles, and knitting... especially hats and mittens for school children during the winter months. Sandy and Joyce were servants at heart; always giving of their time. After retiring from teaching, they devoted their time to volunteering at church and Ascension Genesys and Acorn Gift Shop. Traveling was a favorite past time as they were able to see so many places throughout the world. Joyce leaves behind her children: Cynthia (Michael)Dunk, Elizabeth Topham, Matthew Topham, and Martha(David) Stockero; grandchildren: Steven (Stacey) Dunk, Anne (John) Cox, Scott (Rachael) Clouse, Andrew (Karla) Clouse, Peter (Melissa) Clouse, Jay (Brandon) Topham-DuBois-Jones, Jill (Thomas) Winterstein, John (Vivian) Stockero, and Sarah (Anthony) Boyle; and her 13 great-grandchildren. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Grand Blanc Heritage Museum, or a charity of your choice.
