Hilda Marie (O'Connell) Pethers, age 97, of Clio, Michigan passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Hilda was born December 24, 1923 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
She overcame many depression-era hardships to graduate High School with honors. Hilda worked at AC starting during WWII and sang in the AC choir. She owned an Antique store and candy making business. Talented seamstress and China painter. She also enjoyed challenging herself in other crafts and cooking. Enjoyed square dancing and participating in activities at the VFW with her husband. She was married to Kenneth Robert Pethers for 65 years.
She is survived by: sons, Kenneth Pethers (Paula) of Davison, Michigan and Rick Pethers (Yolanda) of Boyne City, Michigan; grandchildren: Jody Tompkins, Scott Pethers, Joselyn Gilbert, Rylie House and Sean Pethers; and 4 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son,Terry Pethers; and beloved brother, Russell O’Connell. Committal service will be held on November 18, 2021 at 10am at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
