HUDSON, Russell Dallas - of Davison, MI, age 93, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at his residence. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 1 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Robert C. Bacik officiating. Interment, with Military Honors under the auspices of the Marine Corps. League Flint Detachment #155, in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 and 12-1 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org, or Boys Town Nebraska, www.boystown.org, in Russell’s memory.
Russell was born in Flint, MI on August 30, 1923, son of the late Charles and Georgina (Young) Hudson. He married Illa Singer in San Diego, CA and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2008. Russell proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. during WWII, stationed in Iwo Jima and other areas of the Pacific. He retired from General Motors Grand Blanc Tank Plant. Russell was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Russell is survived by 4 children, Joyce (David) Brown, Claudette (Ray) Purzycki, Sharon Robinson and Charlie (Melissa) Hudson; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Margaret Ancic, Eileen DeVault, Clifton Hudson, Mary Warner and Francis (Bonnie) Hudson; many other loving family members and friends.
