Jesse Lee Garber known to all as Lee was born on April 22, 1938, Lee passed away peacefully on June 30, 2021 surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 6th at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, Michigan. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Upon graduating high school Lee and his best friend and best man, Orville Pickard signed up for the U.S. Air Force together where he served for four years. While serving his country Lee married his high school sweetheart Joan, his Joanie girl on June 21, 1958. Together they raised their daughter Lisa. Lee was employed by Buick for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He and Joan retired to East Tawas, where he resided until the time of his death.
Lee enjoyed the outdoors, long car rides and drinking a beer with friends. He was an avid bow deer hunter and at one time owned a charter fishing boat. He enjoyed telling long entertaining stories about his life. He also loved telling jokes to make friends and family along with himself laugh. Lee’s laugh was truly one of a kind. He was a loving father to his daughter, Lisa and the most loving and very best granddad to his granddaughters Lindsey and Sarah. He truly left his mark and will be greatly missed.
Lee is survived by his daughter Lisa Lee (John), granddaughters Lindsey Coon (Michael) and Sarah McCann, Sister Karen Garber-Ivy, many other nieces and nephews and special friend Beverly Schrieber
Lee was preceded in death by his wife Joan Garber, father Ellis Garber, mother Ardella Garber, brothers Wayne and Layne Garber, sister Carol Morgan, daughter Deborah Kay, son-in-law Mitchell McCann and grandson-son-in-law Nick Kastler.
