Urlacher, Valerie D. – of Flint, age 80, died Tuesday, March 27, 2017, at Wellbridge of Fenton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Mitch Kingsley officiating. Entombment to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
Valerie was born April 21, 1936, in Flint, Michigan to the late Otis and Virginia (Escue) Long. She graduated from Longfellow High School in 1954 and earned her Associate's Degree from Mott Community College in 1980. Valerie married Thomas Urlacher in 1980. He preceded her in death in 2006. She attended Greater Harvest in Fenton. She was also a member of the Eagles Club of Flint - Aerie #629 and the Grand Blanc Moose Lodge. Valerie enjoyed poker, watching "The Price is Right," and attending her clubs.
Surviving are: 6 children: Wayne Tierney of Flint, Marilyn (Tom) Lewis of Sebring, John (Donna) Tierney of Flushing, Kim Laurin (Ed Perry) of Clio, Sheri (Kevin) Lynn of Burton, and Teri Roby (William Thomas) of Clarkston; Sister, Jackie (Wally) Schmidt; Valerie was also the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren: Billy (Kery) Brady, Lisa (Kurt) Kremer, Crystal Charles, Shawna (Nate) Sanders, Lori Tierney, Dawn Brady, Joshua Brown, Faith Lynn, Zachary Lynn, and Felicia Lynn; 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, Valerie was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Long.
