BROOKS, Robert Joe - age 66, of Swartz Creek, died October 19, 2022. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, October 28, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM - 1 PM Friday, October 28 at the funeral home. Robert was born December 17, 1955 in Flint, the son of Robert L. and Joan Betty (Thibaut) Brooks. He was a 1974 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. He was a manager at Sav-A-Lot and had worked at Pet Supplies Plus among other jobs. Robert was a simple man with a big heart. He was a great neighbor to many and was always there when anyone needed him. He was very caring and giving. Robert was a member of the Durand Eagles. He loved birds and owned 7 pet cockatiel birds. When Robert wasn't helping others he enjoyed fishing. Surviving are: mother, Joan Brooks; two sisters, Debra L. Brooks, Cynthia (Leon Jones) Brooks-Jones; two nieces, Kristina "Krissi" Mason and April M. (Mason) Ricker; five great-nieces and nephews, Christina, Ava, Madilynn, Tyler and Jacob; close friends, Charles Kovarick, Kelly Janca, and Russ Corwin.
