SCHELL, George Lewis – Of Flint, age 93, died Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at McLaren-Select Specialty.
A graveside service will be held 11am Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc with military honors under the auspices of the United States Navy.
George was born in Flint, Michigan on August 21, 1929, the
son of the late Albert and Pearl (Chapman) Schell. On September 2, 1962 he married Nadine J. Taylor and she preceded him in death on September 28, 2007. Mr. Schell served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of West Flint Church of God and attended Glad Tidings Tabernacle. Mr. Schell was employed by Chevrolet Flint V-8 Engine Plant for 31 1/2 years, retiring in 1994.
He volunteered at Crossroads village since 1995 and volunteered at McLaren Regional Medical Center for approximately 7 years from 2004 thru 2011.
Surviving are sister-in-law, Janet M. Taylor.
He made many friends working at Crossroads Village.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mabel Chase and Doris Wagner; brothers, Gordon and Russell; sisters-in-law, Patricia Taylor, Gwendolyn Jarrett and Norma Taylor.
