Liske, Donald G. of Flushing, age 76, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing Restoration Foundation, 200 E. Main St. Flushing.
Donald was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 28, 1946, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Kosloski) Liske. He married Linda Hornick on December 28, 1972, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Fenton. Don attended college in Wyoming on a football scholarship before finishing his education at Eastern Michigan University. He worked as a CPA for over 45 years and owned his own accounting firm, which is now Liske, Massey, and Bueche, PC. His big heart helped many during his years of practice. Don served as a Board Member for the Flushing Chamber of Commerce for 18 years, serving as President for two of those years. He was also on the Finance Committee at St. Robert. Don was the founder of the Flushing Restoration Foundation and was proud to have run in the Detroit Free Press Marathon. His funny and witty Christmas letters were loved by all.
Donald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda; son, Adam Liske; daughter, Sarah and husband Bryan Schmidt; work partner and dear friend, Lara and husband Chris Massey; best friend, Jim Borwick. He was preceded in death by his parents. |
