BURTON, Rita M. – Of Flint, age 71, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center.
Private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, Pastor Jason Loewen officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ASPCA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Visitation 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the funeral home.
Rita was born in Flint, Michigan on August 12, 1949, the daughter of the late Herman W. and Opal I. (Chany) Allen.
On June 17, 1967 she married Jerome Burton in Greece.
She enjoyed singing in the choir as an Alto. She was an excellent baker and hosted cookie parties for friends and family.
Surviving are husband, Jerome and brother, James E. Allen.
She was preceded in death by her son, Darryl, in 2020 and brother, David Allen.
