Heaven gained and the world lost a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend Mary Lou Sergent on June 23, 2022. She battled lung and brain cancer, but it never stopped her from living her best life. She died at Ascension Genesys Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and family. Mary was born on June 17th, 1956 to Howard Robert Williams and Elizabeth Ann (Smith) Williams, last born of 9 children. She attended Flint's Southwestern High School. Mary married Dennis Sergent in Flint in 1982, and raised their four children in Swartz Creek MI.
She loved children, and worked as a Paraprofessional for Swartz Creek Community Schools at Syring Elementary. She loved teaching children to read, and was also a Sunday school teacher at her church for many years. She loved spending time with her husband Dennis, organizing, interior decorating, researching family genealogy, and was passionate about her Irish heritage. When she retired, she loved to spend time at her cabin on Carp Lake MI, and with her family in Cape Coral FL. No matter where she traveled or where she was, you could always find her with one of her grandkids. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors.
She is survived by her loving husband Dennis Sergent of Swartz Creek, MI.
Children; Megan Eister of Cape Coral FL, Katie Tate of Boyne City MI, Kimberli (David) Lambert of Cape Coral FL, and Timothy (Heather) Sergent of Burton MI. Grandchildren, Olivia (Kole) Koontz, Jacob Eister, Zachary Eister, Jesse Eister, Isaiah Eister, Molly Lambert, Linden Lambert, Summer Sergent, Riley Sergent, and Great Granddaughter Sawyer Koontz to be born in December. She was the baby of the family, sister to James B.(Sally) Williams of Grand Blanc, Jerry (Paula) Williams of Grand Blanc, Sue Williams of Flint ,Sandra Williams of Flint, and Sherry Airgood of Tampa. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and neighbors that will miss her very much.
She was greeted in Heaven by her beloved parents, brothers James H., Thomas, and Robert Williams. Also, by her father-in-law James A. Sergent and mother in law Eleanor L. (Cross) Koepke.
Her wishes of cremation will take place, and visitation will be held at Swartz Funeral Hill Road Chapel on July 9th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Larry Burke presiding. In lieu of flowers, she asked that people wishing to express sympathy to do a random act of kindness/love for a stranger in her memory, and to wear bright colors to her celebration.
