COOKENMASTER, James E. – Of Burton, age 81, died Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at McLaren-Flint.
A memorial service will be held 6pm Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI.
Pastor Jerome Taylor officiating.
Visitation 3pm Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Private burial in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
Contributions may be made to National Wildlife Turkey Federation.
James was born in Caro, Michigan on October 9, 1939, the son of the late Paul and Leona (Hunt) Cookenmaster. James proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed and retired from General Motors. James was an avid hunter and enjoyed shooting sports. He also loved motorcycles and kayaking.
Surviving are wife, Sharon Cookenmaster;
Sons, Allen (KaSandra) Cookenmaster and Scott Cookenmaster;
Grandchildren, Anthony, Alex (Mishay), Angela, Thomas, and Sydney;
And sister, Gloria Terbush.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Cookenmaster and Richard Cookenmaster.
