Wade V. Alderman passed into the arms of our kind Heavenly Father Monday October 30th. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Durand Global Methodist Church. Pastor Aaron Kesson will be officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service all at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
Born November 3rd, 1940, Wade was married to Laura (Hall) Alderman for 58 years and was a lifelong resident of Lennon Michigan. Together they raised 4 children: Tim (Tricia) Alderman of Owosso, Tom (Anissa) Alderman of Northglenn, Colorado, Becky (Erich) Smith of Holly, and Peter (Dala) Alderman of Spring Arbor. Wade was a graduate of Owosso High School and Michigan State University. He worked at Alderman’s in Lennon, a company he purchased from his parents Jerry and Dorothy Alderman. The company is now owned by Tim and Tricia and their son Kelvin, the 3rd and 4th generations of the Alderman family. Wade lived a full and rewarding life. He worshiped and volunteered often with his church family at The Durand Global Methodist church. He worked every day at Alderman’s Inc. with his eldest son and grandson. He spent summers relaxing and boating at the family cottage on Higgins Lake. He loved to RV with his daughter Becky and her husband Erich. He traveled with Laura across the globe with life long friends (the late) Walt and Ellie Goff of Haslett. He and Laura wintered in Florida and explored the vast Fort Myers area by boat. He spend many days fishing in the mountain streams of Colorado with his son Tom and daughter-in-law, Anissa, and he loved Cheering on the MSU Spartans with his youngest son Peter and his wife Dala. Wade was a role model for his children and grandchildren and the generations of employees which he often referred to as his family. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity by the thousands of customers he did business with over the years. He is survived by his wife Laura, brothers John and Ed, sons Tim, Tom, and Peter, and daughter Becky. He was grandpa to grandchildren, Hannah (Jordan) Baker, Kelvin Alderman, Alison (Mathias) Hoppes, Olivia Baker, Jesse Baker, Lily Alderman and Adam Alderman. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Dorothy Alderman, brother Paul, and sons Andrew and Glen.
