Died: 8/25/2022
Age: 89
Community: Flint, MI

Pilon, Dorothy “Jean”, of Flint, age 89, passed away at Regency at Grand Blanc as she peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 25, 2022. She was surrounded by her family as she made her journey to her heavenly home. She was born in Flint, Michigan on August 9, 1933, to Arnold and Ruth (Hetzer) Grant.

Jean graduated from Beecher High School in 1951. She was married to Robert “Bob” Pilon the love of her life on August 4, 1951.

She spent her life as a homemaker, wife and mother. Family was always her number one priority. She spent years guiding her family with wisdom about the importance of love, giving and caring. She also imparted many life lessons, including appreciating the beauty of nature, the importance of humor, and being gracious and kind to everyone. She was an excellent seamstress, talented gardener who loved all flowers and was a skilled cake baker and decorator. She spent countless hours cooking meals and desserts with love for her family and the church. She was an excellent housekeeper and kept her house, yard and flower gardens pristine. She loved to travel, especially with her family,
taking her family to Disney World many times teaching us the magic of seeing the world through a child’s eyes. She was fiercely independent and tackled any of life’s obstacles with determination and grace. Her presence was calm, and nurturing, a natural baby whisperer, and would be in her glory while rocking any baby. Her love and loyalty for family and friends was undeniable, and to know her, was to love to her.

Jean is survived by her three daughters: Cindy McCain, Debra Goodman, Robin Ellison (Ed); five grandchildren: Shannon Audia (Michael), Ryan Ellison (Jess), Justin Ellison (Cherie), Christopher McCain (Kira), Alexis Goodman; eight great-grandchildren: Nathan, Izzy & Ella Audia, Landon, Graham & Hailey Ellison, Tori & Addy McCain; her sister, Connie Morris; her sister in laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jean was preceded in her death by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Pilon of 35 years, her son, Robert “Bobby” Jr, her daughter-in law, Tina Pilon, her son-in laws, Wayne McCain and Ron Goodman, her parents Arnold and Ruth Grant, and her brothers Ed, Bill, Jerry & David Grant.
