RICE, James Logan, II "Jim" - Age 71, of Flushing, passed away, Monday, January 30, 2023. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream will be available on Jim's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Jim was born April 8, 1951 in Decatur, IL, the son of James and Francesca Rice. He was a 1969 graduate of Lakeville High School in Decatur, IL and he received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois. He married Virginia (Ginny) Diane McAdamis July 14, 1973 in Decatur, IL. He resided in Flushing since 1990 coming from Springfield, IL and Decatur, IL. Jim retired in 2014 from Bishop International Airport in Flint after serving for 24 years as the Airport Director. He was a member of the AAAE, MAAE (president 1992), and Great Lakes Chapter of AAAE (president 1997). He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending the winters in Florida since retirement. His main love was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife of 49 years, Virginia (Ginny); children, James Logan Rice III of Denver, CO, Julie Rice of Denver, CO and Jill (Tom) Case of Freeland; grandchildren, James Logan Rice IV, Charlie Rice, Isabelle Case and Addison Case; sisters, Janice Norris of Bloomington, IL and Jeanne (Dick) McMurray of Naples, FL; brother, Jeff (Linda) Rice of Cape Coral, FL; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
