SAWERT, Roberta H. – Of Grand Blanc, age 79, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at The Oaks at Woodfield.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Roberta was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on October 4, 1943, the daughter of the late Melvin and Roberta Heltsley.
She married Ulf Sawert on November 27, 1965 in Madisonville, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2017.
Roberta graduated from Madisonville High School, Class of 1961 and attended Randolph Macon Women’s College for two years, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at Purdue University where she met her future husband, Ulf.
Her faith in Jesus and family were very important in her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and home improvement projects, but above all she loved being a wife and mother. Roberta taught English for several years before starting her family.
Surviving are daughter Kathleen Sawert of Grand Blanc;
and son, Peter (Kristi) Sawert;
grandsons, John, Benjamin, and Samuel of Arlington, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by one sister and survived by another sister.
