Age: 77
Community: New Lothrop, MI

William Danny Hemgesberg, of New Lothrop,

passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on January 18, 2025, at the age 77.

Bill loved his family and his faith passionately. He was very proud of his children and their spouse's accomplishments, and took pride in how they raised their children with good values and faith in God. He loved watching the University of Michigan sports, and most of all loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports while encouraging them to put one hundred percent effort into everything they did. Bill loved going to car shows with his 69 GTO Judge, and collecting Franklin Mint model cars, particularly when he could gift a model to a friend that matched a car they owned. He enjoyed deer, pheasant, and coyote hunting, and playing golf. He served in the 101st Airborne Army unit in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart, and proudly worked to support other veterans of all conflicts returning home safely. As a lifelong member of the St. Michael Church in Maple Grove, he took great pride in installing the light in the bell tower, because, in his own words, "You can see it for miles".

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruthann Hemgesberg; children, Joseph (Kimberly) Hemgesberg, Nora (Jason) Heystek; grandchildren, Gavin Hemgesberg, Grace Hemgesberg, Garrett Hemgesberg, and Maxwell Heystek; brothers, Lavern (Jeanette) Hemgesberg, Michael (Jane) Hemgesberg, Daniel Hemgesberg, and James Hemgesberg; sister, Sally Gross; sister-in-law, Norita (Ted) Liposky; brothers-in-law, Ron (Kathy) Gross, Gerry (Sandy) Gross, and James (Sharon) Gross.
